Professor D. Hatzichristou’s extensive clinical and surgical experience, coupled with his research contributions through over 150 international publications, have garnered international recognition. For over 25 years, he has served as instructor in more than 300 educational activities worldwide. In Greece, he has been instrumental in organizing educational initiatives for 20 years, some of which have become institutions in urological education, such as the “UroSchool” and “Andrology update”.

His inclusion in Stanford University’s “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list in November 2023 underscores his significant impact on the fields of Urology and Andrology globally. Since 1995, Professor Hatzichristou has held various positions within the European Association of Urology (EAU), including as a founding member of the Andrological Section of the European Society of Urology (ESAU). He has also made substantial contributions to the European School of Urology (ESU) and the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM), where he served in various leadership roles, including as President.

In 1998, he established the Center for Sexual and Reproductive Health (CSRH) at the University of Thessaloniki. In 1995, he founded the Euroepan Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM), serving as its President from 2004 to 2006. Professor Hatzichristou’s involvement extends to the international level, as he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the European Academy for Sexual Medicine (EASM) and serves on the International Advisory Committee under the World Health Organization, chairing the committee for the clinical evaluation of patients with sexual dysfunctions.
